Toolbox Programming in GSoft BASIC
Way, way back in 1998, Mike Westerfield of The Byte Works contracted me to adapt his excellent book “Toolbox Programming in C” for the new GSoft BASIC interpreter. Unfortunately, when I got to Chapter 7 (on the Print Manager) we started running into problems where certain code samples couldn’t be adapted for various reasons, and we never quite sorted things out. Work on the book dragged to a halt at that point.
I’ve gotten permission from Mike to release the six chapters that were completed as freeware. You can download a PDF of the first six chapters, as well as the sample code, which is available in both ShrinkIt archive format and as a DiskCopy 6 format disk image file (which is a raw image file format; you can use it in pretty much any Apple IIgs emulator).
Important Notice
This book and the code samples are released as-is. There is no warranty, implied or otherwise. If they don’t work, if there are errors, etc., I’m afraid you’ll just have to live with them. No support is offered by either The Byte Works, Syndicomm, or Eric Shepherd.
